Getting Started
If you are interested in taking up the sport of archery then why not join one of our beginners courses?
All of our beginners courses are run by qualified Archery GB coaches and all of the equipment is provided. Our beginner’s courses currently cost £70 regardless of age.
They typically last for 5 sessions over 2-3 weeks and include instructions on safety, etiquette, bow types, scoring and much more. Coaches are always available to ensure a fun and safe environment. At the end of the course, you will be awarded a certificate of completion.
Please note: the courses are suitable for ages 10+, and all juniors under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. If you have a health condition or disability you think may impact your ability to shoot, please contact us to discuss before enrolling on a course. Archery can be adapted to many disabilities, including blindness, wheelchair users and amputees, although the club needs to ensure we have the knowledge and equipment to fully support you.
Beginners courses run subject to demand.
The next course will run in April/May 2025
As places are limited for these courses, it is best to book directly with the secretary by calling 01886 889242.

Have-A-Go and Taster Sessions
If you’re unsure whether archery is for you, why not try one of our taster sessions or find one of our Have-A-Go stalls?
Lasting 30 minutes, taster sessions run several times throughout the year.
Have-A-Go stalls can be found at local events and fairs around the Wyre Forest area throughout the spring and summer, they are a short but fun way to discover archery.
Details will be posted here once they are confirmed.
Joining The Club
We are happy to accept new members who can demonstrate that they have completed an archery beginner’s course, with WFCA or another club. We also welcome members of Archery GB who can produce a current membership card. Our membership prices can be found here.
If it has been a while since you have last shot, you may be asked to undertake a short assessment with one of our coaches. At the end of the session, the coach will, if necessary, agree on a ‘work plan’ with you, detailing what they consider necessary to bring you up to the required standard for a full shooting member.
By completing this form, you consent to be contacted to discuss your return to archery and to arrange a session with one of our coaches.
